キルト作りをしていく上で欠かせなかったのがこのミシンでした。

because the home sewing machine for sewing width as short arm is approximately 15 cm.
design for sewing in a width of 15 cm is limited.
For example paisley, puzzles, pearl, shell, leaves, etc. The small designs can be sew
but the circle, diamond, hexagonal, triangle, etc. a little bigger designs you can not sew
In the midst of a 15 cm wide you can not use the rule freely.
For this reason quilting design is limited.
But now there is a huge home long arm sewing machine.This is it!
10年以上も前に購入したこのフレームとミシン、長い間使いこなしました。
このフレームにはベルニナ、ハスクバーナ、蛇の目、エルナ、シンガー、JUKI などの
ミシンを乗せられ簡単なキルティングを縫うことはできましたが、高度なデザインを
このミシンで縫うことはできない状態でした。なぜかと言うと普通の家庭用ミシンでした。
ミシンのアームはみじかいので縫う幅は約15cmほどです。
15cmの幅の中で縫うにはデザインは制限されます。
例えばペーズリー、パズル、パール、カタツムリ、リーブスなどのデザインは縫えますが
、円、チェックボード、菱形、六角形、三角形などちょっと大きめなデザインは縫えませんでした。
縫える幅が約15cmなのでスケールが自由に使えない状態です。
そのためにキルティングデザインは限られていました。
しかし今はなんと家庭用のロングアームミシンがあります。それがこれです！

私は30年近くキルト作りをしています。本格的にキルト作りを始めたのが25年位前。
最初はハンドキルトからはじめ途中からハンドとミシンをミックス、今ではミシンキルトがほとんどです。
これまでUSAではロングアームミシンとプログラム付きロングアームミシンがいくつかのメーカーから
発売されています。昨年日本でこのロングアームミシンが発売されることを知った時は嬉しかったです。
